”AWS connection failed” error

  1. Verify the IAM role still exists in your AWS account
  2. Check that the External ID in the trust policy matches the one on your OpsBeacon settings page
  3. Confirm the role has the required permissions (see AWS IAM Permissions)
Run a connection test:

Cost data shows $0 or seems wrong

  • AWS Cost Explorer data has a ~24h delay. Check if the period you’re asking about is within the last 24 hours.
  • Confirm Cost Explorer is enabled in your AWS account (it requires a one-time activation in the AWS Console)

Trusted Advisor recommendations not showing

This requires a Business, Enterprise On-Ramp, or Enterprise AWS support plan. On Developer or Basic plans, Trusted Advisor check details are not accessible via API.

GuardDuty findings not appearing

  1. Confirm GuardDuty is enabled in the regions you care about
  2. If no findings appear after enabling GuardDuty, it may simply mean no threats have been detected — this is expected behavior

Security Hub findings not appearing

Confirm Security Hub is enabled and has at least one security standard enabled (e.g., AWS Foundational Security Best Practices).
