What it shows

Beacon reports on how well your existing AWS commitments (Reserved Instances and Savings Plans) are being used, and identifies on-demand usage that could be converted to commitments for savings.

Key metrics

RI utilization — what percentage of your purchased RIs are actually being used
RI coverage — what percentage of your eligible usage is covered by RIs
Savings Plan utilization — how much of your Savings Plan commitment is being consumed
On-demand exposure — usage running at on-demand rates where commitments would save money
