- 24-hour delay — AWS Cost Explorer data is typically 24 hours behind real time
- Resource-level attribution — Beacon identifies cost drivers at the service and usage-type level, not down to specific instance IDs (requires resource-level tagging)
- Tag coverage — tag-based filtering requires tags to be activated in AWS Cost Explorer and applied to your resources
Security findings
- GuardDuty must be enabled — if GuardDuty is not active, there are no findings to analyze
- Security Hub aggregation — findings from third-party integrations only appear if those integrations are connected to Security Hub
AI economics
- AWS Bedrock only (native) — non-AWS AI providers require cost tagging in AWS Cost Explorer to be tracked
- Usage-level data — Beacon tracks spend but not the content of prompts or completions
Trusted Advisor
- Business+ support plan required — check-level results are not accessible via API on Basic or Developer plans
