Savings Recommendations - OpsBeacon

What it shows

Beacon pulls savings recommendations from AWS Trusted Advisor and presents them ranked by estimated monthly savings. Each recommendation includes the affected resource, the issue, and the action required.

Common recommendation types

Idle EC2 instances — running instances with very low CPU utilization
Underutilized EBS volumes — provisioned storage with no recent read/write activity
Unassociated Elastic IP addresses — EIPs not attached to a running instance
Low utilization RDS instances — database instances with minimal connections
Reserved Instance optimization — on-demand usage that could be covered by RIs or Savings Plans
