# FinOps Health Score

> A single number that reflects how well your cloud spend is managed across cost, AI, and security.

## What the score measures

Your FinOps Health Score (0–100) is a composite score across three dimensions:

| Dimension | Weight | What it measures |
| - | - | - |
| Cost Optimization | 40% | How well your spend is optimized — idle resources, RI coverage, savings plan utilization |
| AI Economics | 30% | How efficiently your AI workloads use tokens relative to output produced |
| Security Investment | 30% | How aligned your security spending is with your actual risk exposure |

## How to get your score

```
@Beacon what's my FinOps score?
@Beacon run the FinOps health check
```

## Score benchmarks

OpsBeacon benchmarks your score against anonymized data from similar-sized AWS accounts in your industry. Beacon will tell you whether your score is above or below the benchmark for your peer group.

## Improving your score

Each dimension has specific improvement levers. The fastest wins are usually:

* Resolving high-exposure, low-effort security findings (Security Investment dimension)
* Enabling prompt caching for high-volume AI workloads (AI Economics dimension)
* Rightsizing idle EC2 instances flagged by Trusted Advisor (Cost Optimization dimension)
