# Savings Recommendations

> Find out what AWS Trusted Advisor recommends for your account — and what each recommendation is worth.

## What it shows

Beacon pulls savings recommendations from AWS Trusted Advisor and presents them ranked by estimated monthly savings. Each recommendation includes the affected resource, the issue, and the action required.

## How to use it

```
@Beacon what are my top savings opportunities?
@Beacon show me Trusted Advisor recommendations
@Beacon how much could I save on EC2?
```

## Common recommendation types

* **Idle EC2 instances** — running instances with very low CPU utilization
* **Underutilized EBS volumes** — provisioned storage with no recent read/write activity
* **Unassociated Elastic IP addresses** — EIPs not attached to a running instance
* **Low utilization RDS instances** — database instances with minimal connections
* **Reserved Instance optimization** — on-demand usage that could be covered by RIs or Savings Plans

## Tracking a recommendation to completion

```
@Beacon assign finding-03 to @alice
@Beacon mark finding-03 as resolved
```
