# Cloud Spend Analysis

> Understand where your AWS money is going — by service, account, region, and tag.

## What it shows

Cloud Spend Analysis gives you a structured breakdown of your AWS spend over any time period. Ask Beacon for a summary and it returns spend by service, top cost movers, month-over-month change, and projected end-of-month total.

## How to use it

```
@Beacon what's my AWS spend this month?
@Beacon show me spend by service for last week
@Beacon which AWS accounts are driving the most cost?
@Beacon break down my EC2 costs by region
```

## Output format

Beacon returns:

* **Total spend** for the period with % change vs prior period
* **Top services** ranked by cost with absolute and relative spend
* **Notable changes** — services where spend moved significantly
* **Projected month-end** based on current run rate

## Filtering by tag

If your AWS resources are tagged (e.g., by team, environment, or project), you can ask Beacon to filter by tag:

@Beacon show me spend tagged env:production
@Beacon what's the cost for the data-platform team this month?
```
